Espressif's Teo Swee Ann Becomes a Member of SMU’s International Advisory Council

The Singapore Management University (SMU) has appointed Espressif’s Founder and CEO, Teo Swee Ann, as a member of the University’s International Advisory Council.

We are delighted to announce that Teo Swee Ann, Founder and CEO of Espressif Systems has recently been appointed as a member of the International Advisory Council at the Singapore Management University (SMU). The SMU International Advisory Council comprises experts from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. The Council’s mission is to develop the SMU’s international collaboration with governments, business leaders and academics both in Asia and globally.

Teo Swee Ann’s contribution to the SMU International Advisory Council will stem from his expertise in the wireless chip industry, which spans more than two decades. Having extensive experience in R&D management, Teo Swee Ann founded Espressif Systems (688018.SH) in 2008. From this position, he has led the development of a series of secure, high-performing and cost-effective Wi-Fi-and-Bluetooth microcontroller units. Under Teo Swee Ann’s leadership, Espressif’s open-source software architecture and innovative AIoT solutions have taken the developer world by storm. Since 2017, Espressif has ranked first in the Wi-Fi MCU market for three consecutive years (Source: Techno Systems Research, TSR), and has been listed in Forbes’ 2020 IoT Ranking as one of the most innovative companies in China.
