Espressif Systems Announces the TELEC Certification of ESP8266EX Wi-Fi Module

The ESP8266EX Wi-Fi module has been approved by the Telecom Engineering Center (TELEC) as a product in accordance with the Japan-EC MRA.

ESPRESSIF SYSTEMS (SHANGHAI) CO., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as “Espressif Systems”) today announced that ESP8266EX Wi-Fi module has been approved by the Telecom Engineering Center (TELEC) as a product in accordance with the Japan-EC MRA.

Since its debut at the end of 2013, ESP8266EX, a Wi-Fi chip designed for the Internet of Things, has received great recognition and support from developers and customers at home and abroad. So far, it has been widely applied in home automation, industrial wireless control, wireless detectors and controllers using sensors, and other various areas.

The TELEC certificate demonstrates that ESP8266EX Wi-Fi Module has met the Japanese standards for radio equipment. It further strengthens Espressif Systems’ international presence in the Internet of Things market after the FCC and CE certificates.

TELEC is a certification body registered with Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) that provides technical regulation conformity certification services for all kinds of radio equipment specified by the Ministry. The wireless products need to get TELEC Certification (mainly for RF part) when entering into Japanese market.
