Espressif Introduces ESP32-E22, Its First Wi-Fi 6E Connectivity Co-Processor
Shanghai, China
Jan 19, 2026
Espressif unveils the ESP32-E22, its first Wi-Fi 6E SoC, designed to power a new generation of high-performance wireless products.
Espressif Systems (SSE: 688018.SH) is pleased to introduce the ESP32-E22, the company’s first Wi-Fi 6E SoC and the foundation of a new product line aimed at high-performance wireless connectivity. As a Radio Co-Processor (RCP), ESP32-E22 integrates tri-band Wi-Fi 6E and dual-mode Bluetooth into a single subsystem, offloading the entire networking stack and enabling host processors to focus exclusively on application logic.
Built on Espressif’s self-developed RISC-V processor architecture and Wi-Fi 6E protocol stack, ESP32-E22 offers long-term support, improved flexibility, and a resilient supply chain for demanding wireless products.

ESP32-E22 offers the 6 GHz spectrum functionality to Espressif customers for the first time. It supports Wi-Fi 6E across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands, combining 160 MHz channel bandwidth, 2×2 MU-MIMO, Beamforming, and advanced link-layer scheduling to deliver high throughput and low-latency operation in dense, congested environments.
In addition to its Wi-Fi capabilities, ESP32-E22 integrates a Bluetooth controller supporting Bluetooth Classic (BR/EDR) and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.4, enabling seamless interoperability with both legacy and modern Bluetooth devices. The system’s coexistence algorithms ensure reliable operation when both radios are active concurrently.

As an RCP, ESP32-E22 manages the complete Wi-Fi and Bluetooth protocol stacks internally—including security, authentication, scanning, roaming, and Bluetooth host functionality. This architecture allows system designers to pair ESP32-E22 with Espressif’s own SoCs or third-party processors through high-speed interfaces such as PCIe 2.1, and SDIO 3.0, depending on system needs.
At its core, ESP32-E22 features a dual-core 500 MHz RISC-V processor developed in-house by Espressif. This processor enables efficient protocol handling and supports advanced modulation schemes, including 1024-QAM, achieving data rates of up to 2.4 Gbps.
ESP32-E22 is engineered to serve as a flexible wireless platform for a wide range of devices. It enables high-bandwidth streaming and wireless video links, supports next-generation smart-home hubs and connected appliances, and offers robust wireless performance for industrial automation, bridging solutions, and AR/VR accessories requiring low-latency communication.

With tri-band Wi-Fi 6E, Classic Bluetooth, and Bluetooth LE 5.4 integrated into a single SoC, ESP32-E22 embodies Espressif’s ongoing commitment to High Performance, Flexible Integration. It provides developers with a secure, scalable wireless platform ready for the next generation of consumer and industrial products.
Engineering samples of ESP32-E22 are now available. For inquiries, please contact Espressif’s customer support team.
