Official Opening of Espressif’s New Branch in India

Pune, India
Mar 5, 2018

Our Indian branch has just opened and we couldn’t be more excited about this!

Espressif has just opened a new Technology Center in Pune, India, which will focus on embedded software engineering and IoT solutions development. It is expected that our core team of engineers in Pune, currently a total of 10 people, will expand, taking on board another twenty employees by the end of the year. During the first stage of recruitment the positions to be advertised include an Embedded Software Engineer, an IoT-Solutions Developer and a Technical Writer.

The new centre covers 2920 square feet, plus another 1000 square feet which will be used as a cafeteria and socializing space. The exact address of our new branch is: G - 1, Eco Tower, Baner - Pashan Link Road, Baner, Pune, Maharashtra 411045.

It is not coincidental that Espressif chose Pune as the city that would host its new Indian enterprise. Pune is emerging as a vibrant hi-tech hub, with a young demographic and a premier educational institution, Savitribai Phule Pune University. The city is only 75 miles from the financial center of Mumbai, and benefits from the modern Mumbai-Pune Expressway, as well as an efficient transportation system within Pune itself.

India’s startup scene has evolved a great deal over the last few years, following the global trend in cloud, mobile and digital startups. Nowadays, Pune is to Bangalore what Austin, Texas, is to Silicon Valley, California –a hotbed of innovation with a more affordable standard of living.

“Pune feels very promising when it comes to recruitment in the hi-tech sector, since it has accumulated a great deal of IT talent with huge potential, Espressif’s CEO and founder, Teo Swee Ann said. He went on to add: “We are now starting with a strong team of engineers and are looking forward to welcoming more members in the near future. So, if you wish to become part of our core team in Pune, please, send your CV to jobs.india@espressif.com”.

On a relevant note, Nitin Dahad, a technology consultant and publisher of the online tech-innovation magazine The Next Silicon Valley, has recently said: “Pune has surpassed Bangalore as an engineering hub for multinational corporations. A lot of resources are now available for entrepreneurs. On this note, Amit Paranjape, co-founder of Pune’s leading online tech community PuneTech.com, has said: “Pune has an active startup ecosystem in Software/IT, manufacturing technology and clean tech. A small city compared to other Indian metropolitan cities, Pune has historically been a center for education and research. Today, it is also one of the top manufacturing hubs in India”.
