Espressif Enters the High-Performance Wi-Fi 6E Market
Shanghai, China
Jul 4, 2025
Espressif has achieved a new breakthrough in high-performance wireless communication chips, officially entering the Wi-Fi 6E market for high-speed data transmission and transparent communication.
Espressif Systems (688018.SH) is entering the Wi-Fi 6E market, extending its connectivity portfolio into the domain of high-throughput, low-latency wireless solutions. With tri-band support now spanning the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz spectrum, Espressif is positioned to serve the increasing demand for faster and more reliable wireless communication in today’s data-intensive applications.
Addressing the Next Frontier of Wireless Performance
The 6 GHz band, newly opened for unlicensed use in many regions, offers greater channel availability, reduced interference, and improved quality of service, particularly in dense environments. Wi-Fi 6E enables broader bandwidth (up to 160 MHz channels), and advanced features such as MU-MIMO, OFDMA, and Beamforming to improve spectral efficiency, capacity, and connection reliability. Wi-Fi 6E implementation supports 1024-QAM and can achieve data rates of up to 2.1 Gbps under 5 GHz, 160 MHz channel conditions.
Built on Espressif’s Core IP
As with all of Espressif’s connectivity solutions, the company’s Wi-Fi 6E implementation is based entirely on self-developed protocol stacks and core technologies, ensuring long-term product support, design flexibility, and supply chain independence. This step reinforces Espressif’s strategy of maintaining technological self-reliance while meeting the performance requirements of future wireless deployments.
Scalable Integration for Diverse Applications
Espressif plans to introduce multiple product variants based on this new technology to serve different market needs. Whether deployed in multimedia streaming devices, wireless video transmission, networked consumer devices, smart home infrastructure, industrial controllers, or bridging solutions.
Together with Espressif’s in-house multi-core RISC-V technology, these solutions are engineered to deliver high-throughput, low-latency wireless performance with protocol handling and integration flexibility across diverse system architectures.
By expanding into Wi-Fi 6E, Espressif strengthens its commitment to “Affordable Performance, Flexible Integration”—providing developers with the wireless foundation to power increasingly complex and bandwidth-intensive use cases. Stay tuned for more details on Espressif’s upcoming solutions built on this technology.
