Espressif's ESP32-C61 Now in Mass Production!

Shanghai, China
Jun 16, 2025

A high-performance, cost-effective Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5 (LE) RISC-V SoC with optimized peripherals, enhanced connectivity, and expanded memory options, designed to meet the growing demands of advanced IoT applications.

Espressif Systems (688018.SH) is pleased to announce the mass production of the ESP32-C61, a cost-effective, highly integrated SoC that combines 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 (LE), designed to meet the growing demands of modern IoT applications.

Built around a 32-bit RISC-V processor running at up to 160 MHz, the ESP32-C61 supports Wi-Fi 6 features such as OFDMA, MU-MIMO, and Target Wake Time (TWT), ensuring low latency, high concurrency, and power efficiency. Its Bluetooth 5 (LE) capabilities include extended advertising, Coded PHY, and 2 Mbps PHY, as well as support for Bluetooth Mesh 1.1.

The chip integrates a rich set of peripherals, including SPI, I2C, UART, I2S, ADC, GDMA, ETM, and an Analog Comparator, making it ideal for a wide range of applications, from smart home devices to other varied connected applications.

A key advantage of ESP32-C61 is its support for external PSRAM, which enables developers to build feature-rich applications without being constrained by internal memory limits. This provides higher software development flexibility, allowing more room for larger data buffers, additional functionality, and future upgrades—with less time spent on memory optimization.

ESP32-C61 is fully supported by ESP-IDF and the ESP-Matter SDK, and can also operate as a wireless co-processor via ESP-AT or ESP-Hosted, enabling seamless integration into a variety of system architectures.
