Espressif’s ESP32 is among the first SoCs to support the newly announced Amazon Common Software for Devices (ACS). The combination of ESP32 hardware with ACS provides accelerated yet flexible development for connected devices with seamless integration of Amazon Device SDKs.

Espressif Systems (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (SSE: 688018.SH), today announced that ESP32, its flagship wireless system-on-chip (SoC), is among the first SoCs to support Amazon Common Software (ACS) for Devices. Currently offered in Preview, ACS accelerates the integration of Amazon Device SDKs on your devices to bring them to market more quickly and cost-effectively. For device manufacturers, ACS provides a single, unified API integration layer for multiple Amazon SDKs. ACS also provides pre-validated, memory-optimized components from Amazon devices for common functions such as connectivity, networking, authentication, and key-value store.

Espressif’s ESP32 is a WiFi + BT/BLE combo SoC that provides multi-protocol connectivity, desired level of security and a rich set of IO peripherals with a high level of integration. The ESP32 SoC-based WROOM and WROVER series of modules come with global certifications, high performance and power efficient radio front-end design. When combined with ACS, it becomes easy for device makers to develop and maintain connected devices with minimal engineering efforts, allowing them to focus on their key value propositions.

On this note, Espressif’s Founder and CEO, Teo Swee Ann, said: “The Internet-of-Things era has spurred the development of connected devices that require secure and fast wireless connectivity. We are excited to be able to offer this to our customers by bringing ESP32 as a qualified platform for ACS. We believe that the enhanced performance and interoperability of our devices at an affordable cost will benefit the entire industry.”
